We want to welcome our summer intern, Amanda Stevens, to Tacony and the CDC. Currently, Amanda is a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania working towards a dual-degree in Historic Preservation and City Planning with an emphasis on community and economic development. She also brings her background in architecture and design to our organization.
So far this summer, Amanda has worked on a range of projects to support the efforts of the CDC. Some of these include creating promotional materials for current and potential business owners, completing a market analysis of the Tacony area, assisting with storefront improvement and security camera projects, reporting issues along the corridor, and surveying businesses in the neighborhood. During the remainder of the summer she looks forward to continuing to get to know the business owners of Tacony and learning what it is like to work at a neighborhood level.
